When a user poses to create a mobile website can arise to various questions regarding to the management of their website domains, redirecting issues or other technical issues.
Onbile is a platform that aims to make easier for the user to manage these treats, giving the choice between several options depending on the level of expertise or knowledge that the person has.
Through this article we will explain you the different hosting options available at Onbile´s platform that let you create your mobile website and publish it on the Net quick and easily.

First we differentiate between two cases, the user who creates a mobile website without having previously a normal website and the user that already had a website for computers and wants to customize its content to a mobile version.
Starting from scratch a mobile website
It is increasingly common users want to focus their websites to a mobile audience, nowadays is known by all the increased use of smartphone and there are many trading strategies around this sector. In this case, after creating your site from our platform Onbile you have two options for managing your domain:
- Access to the domain provider integrated into our platform. It is the quickest and easiest option, in a few hours you will have published your website on the Net.
- Get your domain in an external supplier. Onbile provides you the information related to the DNS server to manage the domain on your supplier and get a proper connection to the mobile website created from our platform.
Creating a mobile version of your traditional website: redirecting
Everyday there are more than 150,000 websites on the Internet, personal pages, business, commerce platforms, agencies, etc. The Internet has become a media and a showcase for millions of people who want to share, participate and interact with other users. Although initially the most used support to access to the Net were computers, in recent years due to the increasing number of smartphone users, everytime is more common surfing the Internet through mobile devices.
That is why it is necessary to have a mobile version of your website that can be visited through smartphone and tablets. If we go further, we shall ask that the optimal solution would be, the one that enable the viewing of both the standard version of the website or the mobile version, depending on the device from we access. To do this we must get the identification of the device that access to the web and manage the correct redirecting to each version, the standard and the mobile one.
Onbile offers the following alternatives to this technical issue.
- Manual
The user should modify its index .htcaccess to redirect correctly to the versions of the site, standard or mobile, depending on the device from it is being accessed. Onbile will provide the necessary code to make this change.
- Automatic
If the user prefers, Onbile platform will take care of changes in the file .htaccess. The user must provide us his ftp address, user and pass to allow automatic changes and get the correct redirecting to the versions of the website.
- JavaScript manual
Onbile will provide the user with the necessary JavaScript code to be inserted into the web that allow the device access identification and allow redirection to the appropriate version. The lines of code provided should be inserted just before the html tag </head>.
Whatever is the option chosen by the user, at the end of the process, our system allows the user to select the devices from which will be accessible to mobile websites created by Onbile. Just have to enable the corresponding options of Mobile, Tablet or PC.
You actually don’t post any information that really helps in finding the redirect code to place inside my website to point mobile devices to the onbile site I created. Without that this service is useless. If it doesn’t work for the free service why whould I ever pay for it?

i need to change some options with my subdomain etc. when i created my mobile site-how do i go back and make these changes? thanks
Thank you Dean to help us to improve our platform, all suggestions are wellcome. In order to manage your hosting request please contact us via our ticket support system. We are pleased to solve your question to obtain a great mobile website.
Loved, appreciated, and was grateful for your previous free version. I can’t seem to generate or find the java code to insert on my site to redirect to your mobile site. This glaring oversight/omission discourages my purchasing a monthly subscription.
You can find the code to redirect to your mobile site at user control panel. You should go to the website manager and then select the website you want to redirect to. Then clic on Edit and later clic on the button “View Redirect Code”. I hope this help you.
Where is this code?
“Manual”
“The user should modify its index .htcacces to redirect correctly to the versions of the site, standard or mobile, depending on the device from it is being accessed. Onbile will provide the necessary code to make this change.”
I have been waiting 4 days for an answer from support.
Hi Millard Clark, we sent you an email with this code. For everybody, this information will be available on the Onbile website as soon as possible. If you are urged to have this code please contact us via our support ticket system. Thank you for your comprehension.
Mary C-
This is incorrect. You can NOT find the code to redirect to your mobile site at the user control panel.
When a user goes to the website manager, selects the website to redirect to, clicks on Edit and then clicks the button “View Redirect Code”, the button does NOT work. You are NOT given a code. Please look into correcting this issue.
I spent a lot of time creating a mobile friendly website as I’m sure everyone else did on this page (John and Will Helpum), and all I need is the javascript code to publish to my website script. The best way you can help is by correcting the “View Redirect Code” button. Please advise once the “View Redirect Code” button works correctly, and you can view the actual code.
We hope your problem was solved satisfactorily. In Onbile we are working to provide the best service to our users. Please, if you still having any problems contact us via support tickets. Thanks for helping us to improve Onbile.
I use the redirect code java but when clicking the button that generates the code directs me to my account panel. what do I do?
Try again, please. When you click on the button “View Redirect Code” you should find the options to manage the redirect code. Maybe when you did this action the button was not operational. We regret this inconvenience.
Redirect Code is definitely not working. Clicking on “Redirect Code” takes me to the control panel (www.onbile.com/panel).
Clicking on “Save & Publish your site” I get this message:
“Great! Your site is now published!
This is your URL:
http://
point_your_domain
Don’t do anything. The purchased domain will start to work in 1 hour aprox”
The site is already not very intuitive, and these errors are making it even more confusing.
The Euro date style and the reply in Spanish I got illustrates my point. Seems like Onbile should’ve been in Beta a while longer to fix these bugs before rolling out the public site.
In fact if you look at the top left is a label that indicates that we are in beta 2.0. Thank you for your comprehension. We are working to fix all these bugs.
We apologize for the inconveniences, we are working to solve these problems. Anyway, I pass on this problem to support department. Please contact them via support ticket system (and indicate the id of your website and the problem you have) so they can keep track of your problem. Thank you for your comprehension.
I’m having the same issues as Jhonatan. When I click on the “view direct code” it directs me back to my profile page. How can I get my code? How long does it take to make the button operational?
For everybody who have this problem with the redirect code, Did you select the third option in domain section (“I’d like to use a domain I already own”)? If you did that, please contact us via the ticket support system and we will help you with this issue. Thank you for your comprehension. We are working hardly to improve our platform in order to provide the best service to our customers.
Great, I already pass the error to the support area, I am waiting for your reply. Also since they send the error data I have attempted this operation every day without any success. It’s good to know I’m not the only one with this problem. We were then tuned to a prompt solution.
Thank you very much for your amazing service.
great but free webstore is necessory. which onbile cannot support . onbile will be the best site of the world if few changes will take place or few terms more added to it . thanks with regards.
thank you very much for the support.
Hello, here’s my problem:
I made a website for mobile with Onbile and when I walk from the mobile to the website automatically redirects me to the mobile version. So far so good.
Then, on the website I have a form that the customer can fill out to contact us. In the mobile version made a link to access the original web questionnaire but as it detects that the mobile version, I get redirected to the mobile version again, so I can not access the survey.
If somebody could solve the problem would be helpful.
THANKS

I would like to stop redirecting mobile visitors to the site I’ve created with onbile. I do not have an index.html as I am using a flash website. How do I edit the index.php to stop redirecting traffic?
Hi Nikko,
If your mobile website created by Onbile has a subdomain like this “whetever.onbile.com”, you must delete the redirect code inserted into your HTML code placed in index.php. It looks like follows:
<script language=”javascript” type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.onbile.com/redirection/CODE”></script>
If you still having any question, please contact us through the tickets support system.
Best regards.
