Most Popular Android Browsers

Android, Browsers, Mobile browsers

Almost every mobile device comes with its own web browser, and while Android’s default browser may not be bad, it has very limited features when compared to the alternatives. It is slower, less flexible and lacks tab navigation fluency.

Let’s take a look at some of the most popular alternative Android web browsers.

google chrome mobile
Google Chrome: Its desktop version, which launched in 2008, had become the most used Internet browser. The beta version of Google Chrome for Android was recently released. With sleek transition effects, an intuitive tab system, a beautiful UI and the ability to sync with a Google account and share browser data between different devices, it is obvious why it is becoming increasingly popular among Android users.

opera mobile
Opera Mobile: Opera Mobile combines the features of a full browser with Opera Turbo, an optional feature to compress data to make load times faster, similar to its little brother, Opera Mini. You can see a grid of your favorite sites for easy access and a tab button on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen for tab management. On the other hand, it is slightly slow compared to other mobile browsers. It supports flash.

firefox android
Firefox for Android: Much like its desktop version, Firefox for Android is about extensions that let you customize the browser to match your personal preferences. The Firefox Sync feature allows cross-device tab sharing. It has an innovative tab navigation, instead of a card-like view, you drag them from the left of the screen. On the negative side, it can be a little slow and consumes a lot of RAM.

dolphin hd browser
Dolphin HD: Dolphin lets you organize your favorite websites’ feeds in a magazine-like way for an easier reading. It also enables gesture commands, a feature that creates a smooth navigation experience. It is also very fast and with additional plug-ins it offers some interesting features, like a full-screen mode.

miren browser
Miren: Developed by MIUI creator, this Chinese browser gained popularity as one of the fastest available. It is particularly useful for devices with small screens, with an optimized UI for them and a full-screen mode that saves the precious space occupied by the address and status bar. Among its most interesting features we can find an integrated RSS feed reader.

Thank you for this interesting selection, I never though of using a browser different from the native one of my phone, but this wakes my curiosity up.
