On Twitter there are always improvements but limited. Outside there is a parallel world to discover, for example Tweetdeck, a client for Twitter and many other social networks, that allows to connect directly using the API, but the biggest difference is that organize the caos, putting in categorized columns the most interesting tweets for us.

unbelievable that a giant like twitter has damaged so much a great tool like tweetdeck

better for twitter than for the rest of social networking, so is not helpful as it can be
as you need to download it as an appi is not practical if you´re not on your personal computer, better idea to put it on the cloud

to monitor my conversations is easy to find overall my new followers and delivered messages, useful also to have trending topics in a column
to update several accounts is the best way to don´t get lost with your followers
